Protect Black Women

Self and Sisterhood Preservation

As Black Woman we are fighting multiple battles: White Supremacy, Misogynoir, etc. “Protect Black Women” is a series of live candid conversations geared toward actionable steps in protecting and preserving Black Women and our ability to be seen in the future.

Our first conversation was held amongst Black Women speaking to how we protect ourselves and each other in this society that is bent on silencing and not considering us.

Featured in this panel:
Our moderator: radio host extraordinaire Lissa Jones, and our panelists: Ambiance Theater founder Atlese Robinson; Holistic Heaux owner Zedé Harut; Vice President of NAACP Anika Bowie; activist and hairstylist Dre Demry-Sanders; and BWS founder and director A’Bryana.

Stop Ceeb (Shame) Culture

In recent weeks, many women in the Somali community came forward to share their stories of sexual assault and faced extreme opposition from the abuser and their supporters. We want to help shed light on and uplift the women of the Somali & African immigrant community in their efforts to gaining accountability from the men who’ve harmed them. We see you, support you, and we hear you.

Held live on Facebook on 6/29/20 @bwspeakorg
